Scalp preparation: 7 steps to achieve perfect hair system bonding

When you reattaching your hair system, you want it to fit perfectly on your scalp. This will not only make the men’s toupee feel comfortable on your scalp, but also ensure that the adhesive you use, whether tape or glue, will remain for the longest time. So you don’t have to replace it until you completely need or are ready for maintenance or cleaning.
Assume you have already taken off your old hair system, here are some steps you need to follow in order to achieve the ultimate bond with your hair:
STEP 1: Apply adhesive remover to your scalp
Once you took off your old hair system, the first thing you need to do is to clean your scalp. First clean with adhesive remover. This will remove all the hair system adhesive that sticks to your scalp, and a considerable amount of adhesive will stick to the scalp, especially if you have been wearing the hair system for at least a few weeks.
We recommend using KP Pro Solvent or C-22 Solvent because these solvent products not only help remove adhesives, but also soothe and protect your scalp. Spray it on your scalp and let it stand for a few minutes. The adhesive will weaken and break down before you wash it off.
STEP 2: Use Ghost Buster to remove the adhesive from the hair system
Next, you will need to remove the adhesive from the hair system base. We recommend using Ghost Buster Bond Remover, which is specially recommended for poly skin hair system and lace hair system. Spray it on the removed hair system and let it stand for a few minutes to loosen and weaken the adhesive. Then you can scrape it clean and wash it off.
This is a Ghost Bond product. You can use it to remove other brands of adhesive. Or you can choose to use rapid release to help remove adhesive. Please remember these products can only be used on the hair system, not on your scalp or skin. Please refer back to step 1 for removing adhesive from your scalp.
STEP 3: Remove remaining adhesive with Bond Breaker
Now according to the previous steps, you can not assure to remove all the residue, whether on your scalp or on the hair system base. This is how residues work, because there is always a small amount of residue. In order to remove it completely, we recommend using Bond Breaker Shampoo. Designed for the hair systems and your scalp, this product helps break down adhesive and scrub the scalp, making it a fully functional product.
Apply a small amount of the shampoo to the hair system and scalp and wipe it like an ordinary shampoo. Ensure that the shampoo is applied in areas where adhesive remains. The Bond Breaker shall break down the bond and remove the residue. Then rinse and repeat if necessary.
STEP 4: Remove dead cells from the surface of scalp
The next step is to exfoliate the scalp. This helps to remove residual dead skin cells from the scalp. In this step, you can use the Yes To Tea Tree Scalp Relief Gentle & Soothing Scalp Scrub.
This is a 99% natural scalp scrub that eliminates any scale and calms itchy scalp. It also contains tea tree oil, sage oil, witch hazel and apple vinegar to help nourish, clean and exfoliate the scalp. Just squeeze a large amount on your hand and massage your scalp. Rinse thoroughly after completion. Please note that this scrub can only be used once or twice a week at most.
STEP 5: Clean the hair system with Keune Cooling Shampoo
Although any glue or tape residue should be removed from your hair system, we still need to make sure it is completely clean. You can wash it with Keune Cooling Shampoo. This shampoo is suitable for all hair types and helps balance and freshen hair. It uses peppermint, rosemary and Forrest Gump oil, and does not contain sulfate and p-hydroxybenzoate. Most importantly, it helps clean the excess gel and grease remaining in the hair system and provides a cool feeling for the hair.
STEP 6: Soak the scalp with alcohol
We are almost ready to put on the hair system again. Before we put on the hair system, we need to soak the scalp with alcohol . Walker's Isopropyl Alcohol is a good choice. Using a brush to apply a small amount alcohol on the scalp where the base is going to stick on and let it dry for a few minutes.
This will remove any residual grease and dead skin cells and dry moisture. Most importantly, it prepares your skin for bonding. If it's time to make sure that alcohol doesn't cause adverse reactions or irritation, it's important to take a small test before use.
STEP 7: Use a scalp protector or skin Med before using the adhesive again(Walker Scalp Protector or KP Skin Med)
After the alcohol is dry, it's time to take the last step, which is to use scalp protector or skin care. You can use Walker Scalp Protector or KP Skin Med. These products not only improve adhesion, especially in hot and humid weather, but also provide a thick protective barrier to prevent irritation of adhesives and tapes. Another is that if your skin is oily, these products can also provide you with a barrier against oil.
